I have talked with the owner and emailed with JHC. JCH will contact her and set up a time to go and check it out for me. This truly is a LTG community effort, Pike posted the original link to the Craigslist ad, information and advice has come from Hans and everyone else on this thread, and now JHC is helping me with the "rescue" mission...we'll keep you posted. Joan

It's a great place here, that's for sure.

Carl and myself are helping to get a guitar from Scratch in Texas to Markus in Austria. Short hops in the car and a plane ride from Toronto home.

She's Mine!

Chip went and played the Guild M-20 for me yesterday and while she'll need some work, there doesn't seem to be anything major. I've just talked with the owner and we'll take care of final details early this week. I'm having her shipped without the case, well packed, and insured. I'm thinking within a couple of weeks I'll be able to post the first pictures before I take her to Randy Woods, my local luthier. In the meantime, here's another picture I got from the seller, this one was taken in the sunlight so you see a nice red glow to the wood.

Thanks to Chip and everyone else who has been part of this community effort to rescue an old Guild. Joan

Hello Hans, I'm a fairly new member here and was referred to you, with questions about the age(s) of these guilds. I found a d-50 on a local CL, in excellent shape according to the owner and the pics look great. I was wondering if you might be able to help me out. Serial # DD 101693. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello glazed67,

That particular D-50 was made in 1983.

Good luck!
