How do I turn off emails to me every time someone posts in a thread I have posted in?
It's not a problem, I just don't need my email box filled up, since I check the site frequently, because it's a great site.

Try going to your profile and looking under preferences. There are a number of thing that can generate email that can be turned on or off. You probably want to look for the word "subscribe".

Here are the mentioned settings. The third "Receive email when a new conversation message is received" is useful, as this is to notify you only about Private Messages ("Conversations", the little envelope) received.
