It looks like they used the length adjustment screws to fasten the strings 'a la Floyd Rose', so the saddles are probabbly in the wrong place and the 'twisted' part of the string is part of the 'playing string', which will probably not help proper intonation either!

ok, this is how my new halfcast t-200 arrived from the guitarcenter in jacksonville, florida with the kind help of capn juan and darryl (an extra "good on ya mate").
no wonder they did not sell the guitar. the strings probably have been from the last century, and the frets were super dirty.
I spent the whole das with a complete overhauling of my new blue babe and now it plays like butter and twangs better then every telly I ever checked.....not too many though :oops:
in one word, a keeper. I am very happy. the old T-200 neck is one of the best I ever played.

Which tells you something about that business! Well ....... at least they didn't say : "We left the strings on because it played so nice!"
