Does anyone have a pic of what the proper metal bridge looks like on a 1965 Starfire II. Mine has a rosewood bridge, but H. Moust has informed me that it is not what was normally put on a Starfire of this year. I'd really appreciate a pic from one of the experts here on LTG.

Maybe sticking with the Rosewood isn't such a bad idea, woodier sounding, but apparently the Hagstrom will hag your hand out...

Just found this bridge on Reverb -- Sheez! 349.00 ! Seems like someone has mentioned this seller before as one not-so-great. Am I correct on that?

You didn’t list the seller, but if it’s Bonfires, then yes - he sucks.

Actually that is the wrong bridge! That bridge is designed to pivot with the Hagstrom trem. You want the bridge with a through-hole on each side of the bridge.

Just take a knife and push the blade into the palm of your hand. :)
Actually they are pretty smooth...

And on that listed Bonfires Hagström gold bridge the rosewood base and the hex metal wheels are not from any Guild I'd say.

I wondered if that bridge was gold (kind of hard for me to tell). A gold one would not work if only for it being the wrong color. At any rate, it is obvious now that the Bonfire bridge, as you and H. Moust have made clear, isn't even for a Guild guitar.

I have a reissue of those bridges I can sell you for peanuts, although it's new, not original obviously

I was always tempted to get a file and round off the corner of the low E saddle on my SFXII. Would've made a significant improvement.
