Welcome to LTG! Whether the neck angle is good is the potential expensive repair ($500+). One can't tell if it's needed from photos. They have to remove the neck and reposition it. Re-gluing the bridge and fixing/installing electronics aren't hugely costly. And you'll want a setup so it plays nice and easy. Good luck! Keep us informed!
Appreciate the reply. I am taking it in Monday to see what the repair guy says. I’ll definitely relay the info. You guys are awesome!

Hey everyone. So I had it looked at.
Bridge needs fixed and frets need filed(I thinks that’s what he said) I was just relieved that the neck was good to go. Looking at 180-400 in repairs. I made him give me a worst case scenario, he thinks $180-200 is the most realistic. That’s, If when he takes the bridge off there is more problems than just glueing it or whatever and if the neck/frets are worse than he anticipated.
With that said. Anyone wanna toss out a fair price for buying this? I really like the underground love for this guitar(along with the sound and feel)but I don’t wanna chase this thing just because you guys are cool. Thanks for all your help and coming along on my D-30 journey

$800 ?? Might be worth more in today's market, but I don't think I'd go any higher since you've got repairs to do.

Sounds about right, assuming there’s no other structural issues.

Rescue that thing, and get it fixed up. If after repairs you are all in for less than a grand, I mean you could do a lot worse for that money. I say you should do it and report back when you get it back from the technician :)

IF it's in good shape otherwise and repairs can be kept close to $200-250 you could go even higher I think. I mean a perfect D30 easily goes for $1200-1300. Prices are up across the board on guitars these days. Also, want to underscore what @wileypickett said about taking tension off the strings until repairs are done. When that bridge finally lets go (and it's close to that point) as he mentioned, it could take a chunk of the top with it. So slack the strings and let us know how it goes, okay? (y)(y)

I loosened the strings as soon as I saw his comment. Thanks for reiterating the importance of that. You guys helped me so much through this process. I was going to just call off the deal until I got some encouragement for this group! I countered the original offer and it was accepted. Feeling pretty good about where this is all going! Gonna drop it off for repair later today🤞🏼🤞🏼

We are really good at talking people into buying guitars. Just ask me how I went from one to 15!

Honestly, from the pictures, that looks like a solid guitar. The saddle has a lot of height left on it. The only thing I would niggle with on the price is the likelihood that it once took a hit to the headstock, resulting in the small crack under the nut. No big deal structurally, but it is there.

I used to own a '76 D-30. They are a lot "crisper" in tone, compared to a D-25, its arch-back sister. I liked it a lot!

Ain't that the truth! I think @PreacherBob can attest to that as well, but I myself went from 0 -7 in less than a year! So glad I came upon them too because it has been a fabulous journey. Some day I may thin it out and keep the best 3 or 4, but for now enjoying the variety. Can't wait to see your fresh, new to you D30 BLD, congrats!!!(y)

Does anyone know of a humidifier case that’ll fit the D-30? Or just any case that will. I’m not finding anything

@Buzzy , as to your question on a humidifier...

I like Oasis units, slip inside the body between the strings. Do not know where you are, but they offer a couple, a "regular" (blue) and one for dryer climates (brown). You should use distilled water in them...also you should get one for in the guitar and one (magnetic/self stick metal strap) for the neck pocket.

I have been trying the D'addario packs, and for me the jury is still out, trying to work out whether they are better or not than the Oasis...certainly they are less work, may last longer, but are more expensive up front. If you buy the whole pack, it includes the guitar and neck pocket pieces.

There are probably others, but these are what I have been exposed to. Local shop had the long tube that goes into the sound hole...do not know the name...I just personally did not care for that, thinking it could rest on the guitar back and stain it. Perhaps unfounded?

Damp-it?

Never had any dripping or staining problems, Bill. Inside is a sponge and you just squeeze it out and dry off with a towel before putting in the guitar. The rubber sleeves that they use do deteriorate (melt) over time (i.e., they don't last forever).

Since my son in law isn't a member here, or of any other guitar forum, I can openly admit that one of the guitars I regret parting with the most is the D30 I gifted him several years back. Gosh I miss that thing. Really nice guitars.

I had always used Kyser soundhole humidifiers years ago Bill, but it occurred to me that if you get the sponges too wet, they'll drip inside the guitar. I'd always really rung mine out in order to prevent just that. Every now and then I'll see a guitar for sale online and there will be water stains inside the guitar, right under the soundhole, and there's no doubt in my mind where it came from. I've been using the Oasis humidifiers for quite a while now. So I'm with you sir.

I use a travel soap container. They cost about a buck at Walmart. Drill a few holes in the top of the container. Put in a sponge.
These fit in several areas of the case. I use the area on the head stock side of the neck cradle. Wet the sponge, wring out so it will not drip and put in soap container.
These will stay damp for several days here in Arizona. The commercial ones usually dry much faster. The total cost for the humidifier is about $1.50.

@cupric I have done that also, biggest downside to that is it is a PAIN to drill the soft plastic of the soapdish

As I said above, for me jury is still out on the D'Addario system, I have mostly Oasis...and a couple of the soap dishes.

All that said, here in New England, we usually do not have to start thinking about humidity until "heating season." I was getting
alarms today from my D'Addario hygrometers that it was TOO humid...thanks Ian 🙁
