I've considered the Microcube, but the one I'm looking at is rechargable and has Bluetooth.

Microcube is a pretty good amp, have had mine for 10 years. Tone is a little icky if you're a purist.

The AA battery option is great, I use rechargeable Eneloops.

A lot of older rechargeable (Pignose) amps are dead now.

Bluetooth can be unhealthy?

I personally decided Bluetooth was unhealthy over ten years ago. But I also decided that microwave ovens weren't something I wanted around my family 10 years before that.

I also have a Faraday cage around my WiFi router. WiFi routers are seriously overpowered and pump out gobs of RF, I personally verified this at home with RF meter, the Faraday cage kills it, and the WiFi still works.

Faraday cages are not gimmicks. Some people claim that WiFi affects sleep etc, and actually recommend sleeping in a Faraday cage - which is easy to make - especially for children.

And this ;]

On a lighter note, the very 1st time I saw a man using Bluetooth headphones I was sitting at a Starbucks/Safeway atrium when the guy walked in stopped dead in his tracks in the middle of the walkway just past the doors and was talking to himself out loud and I thought he was a well dressed escapee from a mental ward.

The coffee was undrinkable but it was always entertaining, like watching people order a 20oz latte, putting it on the roof of their car, driving off, and then coming right back to buy another one ;]

In your area - can you receive radio and/or TV-programs wirelessly ?

I don't have any problem listening to my Pandora station on my bluetooth Fishman Mini Loudbox.

A faraday cage is only as good as its smallest gap. When it comes to RF the size of the gap defines the wavelengths that can get through. A full (and gapless) faraday cage would let zero RF in or out. So if you have a supposed cage around your router and your WiFi still works the cage is not doing much. Further WiFi and Bluetooth both run in the 2.4GHz frequency realm but with different characteristics, ranges & power levels. Properly built, tested and approved Bluetooth is at such a low power level it is harmless to people. Mystery supplied Bluetooth items are buyer beware.

An acquaintance swears by Crate's Taxi series of amps. He buys them used as cheap crimes of opportunity when and where they are available at a price he wants to pay, and then he busks them to death. According to him, they are decent enough sounding, are built reasonably tough, and are quite reliable with good battery life.
