Do you own a Starfire, and sport a beard?
Similar to the Mac vs pc questions that get asked on forums. After seeing it posted I see that it could be worded better, but you know what I mean.

Feel free to post a beard with Starfire bass pic if...

I'm not a fan of shaving and my job doesn't have any appearance requirements, so I probably would... but my genetics only allow for a mustache and goatee. So nay, a beard I sport not.

Wait... is a goatee not a beard?

Also, great pants Grot!

Hmm good question. I guess I always just thought of a beard as running the whole jaw-line, but now that I think about it, I suppose the implication of the term "full beard" suggests that there is such a thing as a "partial beard", which, if I were pressed on the matter, I would assume includes goatees.

Is this a good time to discuss the difference between a Goatee and a Van Dyke? Most people call a Van Dyke a Goatee but technically they are different as shown here:

Of course I have always called a "Friendly Mutton Chops" a "Lemmy" as seen here:

Beardology!

I guess I'm closest to a "Van Dyke" although, once again, my genetics prevent a proper connection between mustache and goatee.

I grew a beard about 25 years ago to tick off my wife and by gum, it turned out that she actually liked it. It took a while to realize that having a husband with a white/grey beard made her look younger than me by comparison. Grrr.

So, I shaved it off after a few years and went to my daughter's after school program to pick her up. I told the program director about the 'new look' and asked her to bring my kid to me. Said child, who had never seen me without a beard, had no idea who I was, even though they brought her up to me several times saying, 'this man would like to talk to you.' She kept looking at me and then back at the director in a puzzled way, like,'who is this guy?'

Finally, the after school ladies were getting deeply suspicious of who I was, too. I asked to see her one more time and when she came up, I spoke out loud for the first time. "Kid," it's me, your Dad. She did a triple-take and I grew it back as fast as possible.

Does that count? 25 years, only shaved once?

Nope. You shave, you start over. :p

I've grown 6 beards since the Incovination.

This might be a good time to point out the difference between wearing a beard and growing your own:

For guaranteed quality and to save money I grow my own, but right after a harvest, er, shave, I use this so folks'll still recognize me:

I grow my beard every winter and shave it off every spring. Does this mean if I kept it on I'd be more likely to have a Starfire bass?
