How long have you owned the Bass: 1/2 year
Year & specific model: 1984 Pilot 602, 4-string, red sparkle (1st revision model)
Purchased new or used: Used
Body wood: probably Poplar
Neck wood: Maple
Fretboard wood: Maple
Pickups: EMG J/P
Bridge: Schaller 3D
Neck shape: nice slim C
Price paid: alltogether with tax because of shipping to germany around 600 US$ in germany and every cent worth it :D .

Owners rate 1 (least appreciated) to 10 (most appreciated) in following categories with comments as desired:

Build quality: 6 - it seems to be a monday model. the pickuard was mounted slightly turned aside and so the pickups are not in the right position. the bridge PU is 5 mm down in direction to the G-string, the neck PU a little less worse.
Looks: 10
Sustain: 10
Playability/comfort 10
Dependability - 9 because it is active and the possibility of battery failure is there.
Fingerstyle - 10
Flatpick - 10

Condition (Mint/Excellent/Good/Fair/Poor): Fair, It is in great playing condition for its age.

Favorite Strings (one selection only): R'Cocco Steels 100-40 at the moment.

Would you buy another if lost/sold: Yes, definately.

Overall Assessment: Outstanding

Most Appreciated Characteristic: versatile, Precision special on steroids sound with a very fast thin neck.
Least Appreciated: the wrong mounted pickups as mentioned before
Favorite Pilot Story/Moment: even though the pickups are not correctly mounted. this bass is a killer, it is my no. 1 playing machine, and has to wait to be fixed until I don't need it urgently. killer sensibility and attack, great warm growl and loud.
edit: today I moved pickguard and PU's into the right position, and had the wanted result: very well balanced strings now and great attack and tone. this one is my No.1 4-string :D

Other observations/comments: read before but anyhow: My main (edit:solid body) 4-string bass
