No, this is not what I do when visiting Warsaw.
I just realized this is something I know absolutely nothing about. (Some surprise, huh? :? )
How does one go about adjusting the poles of an electric guitar pickup?
How do you know if you need to?
I may own one some day, so it would be good to know.

Screw them in (clockwise) to lower them.

Screw them out (counter-clockwise) to raise them.

Adjust pole heights so all strings have equal volume.

Thanks for asking the question, Mark. And thanks for the knowledge, GoG!.

I purchased a DiMarzio soundhole pickup a couple of weeks ago and was wondering the same thing!

Grot, Do you have an official Guild screwdriver for that? :?: :?:

It would look kinda like your new truss rod tool, but with a kinda flatty end.

Hey, I haven't been paying attention. When did No. 85 happen?
(Or was that the truss rod tool  )

Oooo. Ooooo. I got one of those. It doesn't say Guild on it but I'm sure I bought it with the truss rod wrench. Wasn't "Craftsman" a name Guild used on their imported line of tools?

Back to the pole pieces, Grot is right, adjust for equal volume. That said, be aware of mechanics. You can have a pole piece so high that it interferes with the string, especially when bent or plucked vigorously.
