Has anybody tried to put a modern, reissue Starfire pickguard on a vintage model?

I'm specifically interested in buying a reissue Starfire III pickguard for a '66 Starfire III, and wonder if it would fit?

And secondly, if a contemporary Starfire 4 pickguard would fit a SF4 from the early '80's?

thx!

I did catch your insight, JP. It was what lead me to initiate the post. Thanks!

Best I can do is show you the pickguard on a 98 Starfire 3 with Guild Humbuckers.

Just happens I have one. Pickguard picked up a few scratches this morning. I'm happy it's there.

Thanks ...you know, it looks the same. But it's hard to tell from a photo, I suppose.

Here's a '64 (not mine, it's a '66) that is oriented the wrong way ...the pickguards do look the same size.

I need some new photos. :(

My pickguard is stairstepped and transparent. Mine is a year younger than yours.

The transparent pickguard is a cool idea. What it stock? If not, do you know where it came from?

As far as I can tell, it's bone stock, but I'm not 100% sure. It doesn't look like someone mickey-rigged it. The workmanship is very, very good if it isn't stock. Did you see the repros here?
Not stock, but interesting.

I hadn't seen those repo's ...and those look perfect for what I need. Thanks!
