This community is tuned in very well to acoustic guitars and thus I value your input.

I have a Yairi FYM60HD coming in November. I think it needs a PG. Going for fire stripe. Whadday'all think?

Also, position markers, 1/4" dots FTW.

Well, I think with the ebony bridge and fingerboard, as well as plain ornamentation (a good thing, by the way, IMO) I'd go for black on that guitar. Then again a little splash of color would be cool too.

I agree with Chazmo, that a black guard might look more elegant on that instrument.

What shape do you plan? Martin teardrop? Firestripe looks cool but I would first do a printout of the guitar and use a little paper cutout pickguard to play with size and color.

Yairi's are awesum guitars. I always referred to them as Japanese Guilds, they are great guitars and can be had a great prices. I've probably had 7 or 8 Yairi Classical guitars, working my way up the ladder as I found good deals on used guitars. I have a CYM 95 which was the top of the line a few years ago. I'm content with that. If I did come across a CYM 95C (cutaway), I may be tempted.

I also vote for naked. Or if you must have a pickguard on that guitar, a clear one.

Thinking in terms of a Gibson style; I'm a Gibson fan, hence the Fire Stripe idea. Whatever I do, it will be well thought out (I hope).
