I love people who rake or blow on super windy days in the city. Just get em off your yard and onto the neighbors, and people who blow crap out in the street...

Growing up I worked for Parks and Rec seasonally for 5 years.

We raked every park in the city in the spring. A van full of guys with rakes.

I'm still pretty good at it.

There is a raker's high waiting for the raker.

You can make a big bin with fencing and put all your leaves and other mulch in there and they will break down and make great compost, especially if you turn it into a worm bin with red worms.

You might wish to reconsider your disdain :)

In our Town we are instructed to blow leaves into the street and the Town will come by and vacuum them up and take them away.

Ha! They do that in the city next to me. Unfortunately, they never do it before it snows! All they end up with is a big mess. That would drive me crazy...

Well we do that but they want you to have your piles of leaves centered over the cub and no more than 2' into the street. They come by weekly from end of October until December 10 and suck 'em up.
