I just spoke to a Dealer I've done business with a few times, the same one where I bought my F 55E GSR (Oxblood). He'll be getting one of the D 55, 70th Anniv. guitars. He said Yamaha is moving pretty slow but they did just bring in a guy to run the Oxnard plant that used to run the Fender Custom Shop, so some progress I guess. He said he also thinks they will be expanding the facility and increasing production of several of the more popular models.

Please, please, Oxnard, do expand the model line, and produce some custom jobs as well. How about an F-47 for starters. An F-312 would also be good (though the market is probably thin for that one).

I'm on the wait list and they likely won't be available until late August or later.
But, that's a lot of scratch and I'm still not sure if I'll go through with it. We shall see.
