Out of my price range but interesting, nonetheless

Basically my Betts Bass but if it had been available at a different price point earlier I would have been tempted.

How much?
There's a 2-pup 'burst on Reverb right now (the one pictured in first post). Asking price in $4850/shipped: looks very nice but, as I said, too rich for my blood. $2K is about the max I'm willing to spend on a bass and, at the moment, I'd have to sell some stuff to even do that.

(FTR: I have no financial affiliation whatsoever with the seller)

Boutique builders seem to like using Bisonics stock.
I can understand that.
They look good.
Sound great.
Make great thumb rests.
Easily adjustable.
But it is a 100$ pup so the high price must be coming somehow from the rest of the bass somehow.

$100? According to the linked website, those are Novaks, not stockers.

I like the blue 1-pickup version that's showing up when I go to the website.

Lakland had some interesting basses with Dark Stars way back when (15-20 years ago? Back in the Dude Pit days?), so this makes total sense. I think I'd go for a 1 pickup version myself, but I'm not in the market...

Those are Novaks which now start at $305.
