Well guys, it was empty. But it was authentic, because I got it from Oktoberfest in Munich.
(When I was young and working for a living, I wisely coordinated two of my business trips to Europe to coincide with Oktoberfest
and our European office was in Landsberg, not far from Munich)
Traded the stein to the owner of a microbrewery we used to play at here in town, great beer too I might add. One new years eve, he threw a party and drafts were serve yourself, put $2 in the bucket on the bar. We were the band, but that didn't stop us from frequenting the taps
but I digress...
I saw the little guy with the guitar sitting on the bar and I said "Brian, I gotta have that bottle opener, what's it gonna take to talk you out of it?" He said "Whaddya give me for it?" and a trade was born. Good old Yankee spirit of barter, we were both happy, no money changed hands, no taxes were paid...
And ironically, I gave up drinking a little over four years ago now, so the little guy just sits lonely on my shelf with all my other guitar related stuff. But he's still doing me more good than the beer stein.
