Whoopee and it is gonna be good.
This is a great day because 46 years ago I moved into this house with a wife and a 4 year old and a 2 year old. 7/7/77 so 7/7/23 is 14 fret Orpheum time.

Is this natural or burst? Hog or rosewood?

markus :)
Markus, It’s a natural top with rosewood b/s. Looks to be in good shape, but is missing the Guild case.

Congratulations Mike!

One word on cases for Orpheum OMs; they're more like 0000 size, and are too big for OM cases. I've found they fit quite well in dreadnought cases. Another option would be a Martin M/0000 size case.

Thanks Sandy! Yeah, I’m aware of the slightly larger size which is one reason I’ve been looking for this model. It will ship in a Gator case so at least it’s something. A nice Guild dread case down the road would be fine with me, but first things firsts. It’s gonna be a long couple of weeks.

It’s funny you mention the Martin 0000’s as I was looking for those as a possible back up. Turns out a used M36 popped up yesterday on AGF for a good price. I might have pulled the trigger on it had the Orph not showed up. Then wouldn't I be kicking myself ! They do look somewhat similar.

The M-36 has a 3-piece back and is a really nice guitar. Sorry, the Martin in me just jumped out. :)

No worries Greg, I love Martins, too. An M size has been on my radar for a while too. I saw the one on AGF, but don't like the three piece backs. I'd also prefer mahogany, something like this one. Damn, they've gotten expensive!

EDIT. The one on AGF is a different guitar than the one I saw. The price looks right, and it's a two piece back as well.

Good reading and listening Merlin.
Thanks for sharing.
Interesting the author picks the Orph which is really an OM Grand rather than the more iconic F30 series, which has stood the test of time as a great, affordable OM.

So have you received it yet and post a report soon, please?
Hi merlin, I did just receive it and played it a little bit yesterday. I will post a NGD in a day or two. Thanks for asking!
