Brilliant song. I had to share it as I discussed with @sailingshoes72 about it. And yes, that is one of Richie Havens former guitars.

Walter wrote "As a dedication to Richie Havens, on his 80th birthday, I offer One More Day, a song that I played with Richie many times near the end of his career. Sinead O’Connor had recorded the original version for the funeral scene in the movie Veronica Guerin. Richie loved it. And because I learned from him the power of conveying respect through an attempt at unique interpretation, rather than simply posting a link of Richie performing, I offer my interpretation....
My guitar here is Richie’s old tired, roadworn and formerly unplayable 1967 Guild D-40 which I repaired and brought back to life. The performance was done on the fly with no overdubs, save for the drone loop which live, I create on-the-fly right before I start a song.
"

What I did not know, sailingshoes72 explained to me that the song is from the movie about the journalist Veronica Guerin. It is sung by Sinead O'Connor during the funeral scene. A movie about a very dark age in recent history....brings tears to your eyes...

I really enjoy the music of Walter Parks. It is both beautiful and haunting! In the original version of this song, Sinead O'Connor sings the middle section in Gaelic. When Walter gets to this part of the song he sings in the eerie keening of his "swamp holler". It really works in this performance. And good for him for restoring Richie Havens 1967 D-40. That "road warrior" still has a lot of music in it!
