Anyone on still responding to this thread? Found you all on the net and joined. Had my Black 1973 JS 2 refinished years ago and the luthier had no idea how to wire the switch. This was at least 15 years ago. Can’t remember what happened to the original micro switch, but I found a dp switch to fill the hole. Questions to consider are: To keep this as original as possible (aside from the new paint)- Should I bother tracking down an authentic switch (can I even find the correct one?)? Is it worth trying to wire it back in? Considering many think the switch’s function is not worth it. Looking for thoughts, ideas? Thanks

Someone here might know the answer. In the meantime:
What are you using there for the bridge saddles and what happened to the originals? I am always looking for better saddles for those harp bridges. Wondering what you are using.

Hi: I found some handmade rose wood saddles online years ago made just to replace the originals. Nor sure where. I can check and see if I can find the guy/place. A Google search may help. The originals, as you know wear down badly after the first 25 years-LOL.
I have at least 3 of the originals somewhere, maybe all 4. You have a heck of an eye for detail to notice that-Impressive.

different results have been reported from different users of the DH switch. note this is a different circuit than the earlier "suck switch" on a Hagstrom bisonic equipped Guild bass. (the suck switch itself is also a push button switch, whearas the DH switch is a mini toggle). I think you can get the mini-toggle easy enough from Stewmac. as to what that switch should do, or not do, as long as your bass sounds good that is all that really matters. the mini toggle would give u another option. The original mini circuit had some extra tone caps in it, I belive.

Hi again: I found some ebony saddles right on the Guild site:

Random eBay and Reverb searches can garner results for the Rose wood saddles.

Yes. They are rosewood. The flash shows them as a light “pinkish “ wood. Still searching for where I found them. I’ll post if I do.

I've got pictures of a control cavity and a couple hand drawn schematics from a '71 if you're interested. They've been posted a lot on LTG but I just don't have the time right now to find a thread or repost.

If the pic above was your bass the switch looked right.

I did some non destructive experiments with bypassing the switch, liked the sound better but undid them rather than make them permanent. Go figure.

Welcome, by the way.

Thanks. I like the sound the way it is. I just really wondered if not reinstalling it would negatively effect later re-sale. Not that I am even considering that.
Thanks again.

I famously dubbed the switch the suck switch. I'd say if you'e not rich, don't get into [••••]ing with the pickup. Just use one as a looks-authentic hole-filler.
