Old marks on nitro

Not sure it's Sharpie, but could be.
I bought a nice Guild acoustic with a couple of black marks on the end & back (thankfully not on top.)
A preliminary buff with a damp cloth made no diff whatsoever. Looks to be baked in, must have happened a while ago.
Anyone have success removing or minimizing black blemishes like grease, Sharpie, oil, etc. from a nitro finish and if so what did you use?

Try some Meguiars Scratch X. At your local auto parts store.
