Fascinating stuff. I love the tech aspect of the photos. The idea that millions of people send their DNA away to be catalogued is what I find horrifying.

Have any of you seen the Re-face app?? I downloaded it to my iPhone and have used it to entertain myself and my friends!! It's amazing what they can do!! The database of people and movies and music vids is astounding!! It's far more involved than just static photos and sometimes works better than others, but it's very entertaining!!

Here's me as Captain Jack Sparrow.

What?? I can't even get a LIKE for me as Jack Sparrow??? C'mon kids, it's funny!!! :p:p:D

I was going to respond earlier but it rained this afternoon and we lost internet. Like usually happens when it rains and sometimes when it doesn't. The tech was just here this morning for a non-rain loss. I think it would save everyone time if instead of me calling repair when it goes out they would just check with me a few times during the day to see if we still have internet, or not.

But in the meantime, Tom, you make a fabulous Captain Jack Sparrow!

I read this twice and I swear it said, "but it rained this afternoon and we lost interest."

What kind of Internet? Cable, DSL, Sattelite, Something else?

DSL. I'm pretty sure water gets in the lines. One of the techs told me about 2 or 3 years ago that the cables need to be replaced but the phone company probably won't do it because we are the only residence on this side of the road so it's not cost effective for them, and as far as I can tell so far he has been right.

But, another possibility is a bad connection coming off the pole. We had that problem in the 80's. Techs came out 3 different times but didn't get the problem fixed. The 4th tech they sent was a woman. She pulled her van up to the pole, got up there and fixed it in just a few minutes. I told her our trouble history. She said the problem could be seen from the ground (likely due to squirrels), but, "Those guys won't get out of the truck, they won't climb a pole. You want something done, you call a woman!" I liked her.

I don't know if squirrels are contributing or not but I think the lines must be getting wet somewhere.
