I remember when Folk WAS the mainstream music, and there were shows on TV (like Hootenanny) that had guys like Tom Paxton, Chad Mitchell Trio, etc. back during the big Folk Scare of the 1960's.

My friends and I waited on records released by Tom Rush, and Phil Ochs, so we could wear them out trying to cop their licks and sing songs about stuff I had no idea about (Labor struggles, mine cave-ins, etc).

Now I know how my parents felt. THEIR mainstream music was Gene Krupa, and Glen Miller.

When I play my new D40, I pass into a completely different time...
