  As a bonafide Guild owning member of the forum who plays his 15DM and loves it and would NEVER EVER part with it, I confess; I play other guitars.

I have a Martin Sigma DM-4B manufactured in the 90's. I cannot find any specs on this guitar. This guitar truly has a wonderfully vibrant sound and can drowned out most any other guitars when playing around a campfire. Can anyone tell me what the specifications are?

Hello Bikerdoc,

Noticed that you're having a hard time finding information on your Sigma. I'm not exactly knowledgeable about these, but I had the info in my archives:

Top: Laminated Spruce
Back & sides: Laminated mahogany
Fingerboard & bridge: Ebonized hardwood
Neck width at nut: 1-11/16"
Scale length: 25-5/8"
Binding: White
Finish: Black gloss
Tuners: Chrome enclosed

Hope this is of some help.

Merry Christmas!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Yep, that about describes it. I just wasn't sure about the top given the way it sounds and sustains. It's probably the heavy black gloss that preserves the sound. Thanks

Several years back, I purchased a used Sigma Martin USA from a music shop in SLC, Utah.
I never knew much about it, but some people who saw it said that it was an all solid wood copy of a Martin D-35.
The USA part make me think that it may have been a prototype for the soon to come Sigma guitars.
We sold it a few years later, never knowing to real story behind it.
Anyone know anymore about Sigma Martin USA guitars?

Do you still have that Sigma guitar?
Do you remember/know the model number?

The D-19 comes to mind as being solid wood.

I think that it was a DR-35.
I purchased it for my wife because it looked and sounded very close to my 1981 Martin D-35.
We sold it to someone we know who still has it and loves it.
