Amazing collection of offsets!! (y)

I "almost" bought one of those Fender Alternate Reality offset Telecasters a couple years ago in Lake Placid Blue. Played the guitar and really loved the feel, but then the voice in my head that now tells me "less is more" prevailed.

This is the would have been...

I also "almost" bought this LTD Fender Parallel Universe Meteora! But decided against it in last minute as I thought I have no real use for her and have enough guitars already... But I loved the unusual look and the black block markers on the maple fretboard.

Thanks! The funny thing (or maybe not so funny) is that I have others. Here's one that I took with me while house/pet sitting this week. It's a limited edition from a few years ago. There was a pink paisley version, too. A lot of Jmaster players don't care for the pickups in these and often change them out for Lollars or Duncan Antiquities, but I like them. They lean more into Strat territory, but they work just fine for the music I play.

Wow! That's an impressive collection, GG. I always seem to have an intermittent infatuation with Jaguars and Jazzmasters, and I owe it to myself to grab one some day. I love your CS '65 Jaguar, and I always drool over the Fender 60th Anniversary Classic Jazzmaster with block inlays and matching headstock -- so cool looking.

This is the only offset instrument I've ever had -- a 1991 Charvel Surfcaster Bass -- long since sold off.

Carl Wilson started my interest in guitar. Surfin' USA anyone? I had a '62 RI Jazzmaster that I had to let go when I moved to a smaller house. Still have a '62 RI Jag. Jag to me is the Fender sound, not Strat.

Okay, one more. I had this out today for a string change. I switched from round wound 10s to flat wound 11s. A minor truss rod tweak and pickup adjustment was all that was needed. Sounds great as expected. It was fun going back and forth between this and the NS Starfire IV. A real chime-fest. :)

These are all great. I've always been a fan of Jazzmaster pickups, but I prefer the shorter scale of the Jaguars. Played several of each, but never owned one. Those G&L's are awesome though and I've never had a chance to play one. Everything G&L I've played though has been very nice, so I'm sure the Dohenys are no exception. Thanks for sharing!

These were just posted recently.
I thought about that model, but as a vintage weenie, I can't get over the fact that the headstock is wrong. Jags with blocks should have the CBS headstock (never mind that the block inlays are the wrong size). Also, the weight of these have been running heavy even by Jaguar standards. But it certainly is a very pretty guitar. :)

Unfortunately, I've never even been close enough to Jags of those vintages to know any better. 😞😭

All I can do is be dazzled by pretty pretty pretty! 🤩🤪

Oh yeah, those "mystic" colors are beautiful. Makes me wonder if we'll ever see Mystic Lake Placid Blue on anything else in the future.

Also, here’s my weirdo Fender: a 2019 Roadworn Tele in purple! It’s a good one, and I'm not normally into reliced guitars or the color purple.

I'm dedicated to my Rickenbacker 330 and don't expect to come across another electric that I'll enjoy more, but I've always been a fan of Jaguars. Recently, when these Squier Classic Vibe 70's Jaguars went for a deep discount blowout price on cyber Monday, I decided to pull the trigger. I'm happy to report that I now have a great little guitar to scratch the Jaguar itch when it comes along (Beatrice also seems to be a fan)... that said, the frets were the absolute worst I have ever encountered on a new guitar. Utterly abysmal; each one riddled with scratchy burrs and oxidation that could not be remedied with a simple steel wool polish. At the normal price of $489 that would have been unacceptable to me, but given the steal of a blowout price, I decided to take on the challenge. Took me a few hours of filing, crowning, polishing, the necessary neck shim, etc. before it was actually playable. So if anyone is intrigued by these, be prepared to put in some serious time and elbow grease (or investing more cash on a luthier visit). It certainly looks the part though, with a super comfortable neck carve, nice finish, great hardware, and impressively good alnico pickups, smooth solid-shaft pots. I guess they have to cut corners somewhere to keep the price within Squier range. Anyway, thought I'd introduce our new offset buddy:
