Anyone recognize this mounting setup?

Two possibilities I can think of :

-they were messed with after the fact

-perhaps that's how the pickups were mounted in the rare George Barnes acoustilectric and "guitar in F", but that's pure guesswork on my part, because I have never even seen the outside of one of those up close, let alone the insides!

I think you might be correct about the George Barnes. Makes sense. I read somewhere that one came back to the factory to be "upgraded" to the HB1s. This might be the old set!

Ken, while you have them out, could you check the resistance on those pups? GAD has been keeping track of them, and I am interested too.

Ken, those are clearly Guild George Barnes/Acousti–Letric Model floating pickups.
The Guild George Barnes Guitar in "F" had chrome hardware I believe.

That picture was also from you I think:

So this area was glued to a big internal bar. Hans had explained before that this internal wooden bar was going from the neck block to the tail block.

The one with the wood block, bridge I assume, reads 6.8k. The other is an open circuit.
