As of right now:

I really like that last one since I don't recall seeing such a finish on spruce, but like all of them on the list it's priced too high.

Woah— thanks, GAD!

I love the third one (it’s in Germany!) I’m no expert but they do seem pretty $$$$.

the headstock variation is incredible— that’s why i love the third; what to my eyes looks the best and has the chesterfield headstock. I will be keeping tabs on that one and my eye on a couple others on your list!
This site is an incredible resource - thanks to all who make it so!

Hello Aarfy,

That particular guitar is a Nightbird I. It does not have the original pickups and the control knobs have been changed.
That doesn't make it a bad guitar, but you should be able to find an original one for that price.
If you are located in Europe and seriously interested in one of these Nightbirds, get in touch with me and I may be able to help you out.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Those prices could make me consider selling my Nightbird I. ... briefly ... until I play it.

Hello, Hans - thanks for your response!

I appreciate that information - I’m based in the US but I’m European so make it back fairly often in more settled times.

If I’m back home and still have not found one by then I may take you up on that offer.

Does anyone happen to know if the nightbirds had a limited run? I read the nightingales had only 82 (maybe) made? Trying to gauge how easy or hard it might be to find an original (although that mostly likely wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me).

While I can't claim it's 100% accurate, here are my notes on Nightbirds: https://www.gad.net/Blog/2017/10/23/gads-guide-to-guild-nightbirds/

Fantastic, GAD— very useful! Thank you! Sounds like I’m lusting after the right guitar 🙃
