...and it came. A 2000 Nashville M70 in the same colour that everyone else seems to have :)

I paid €1200 on the 'Bay from Germany. I was the only bidder. Shipping was very reasonable at €30. This is my first solid/chambered/small guitar in a long time.

Seller pics since I haven't taken my own:

But now the reality - some things I didn't pick up from the pics before receiving it and one (possibly) nasty surprise.

First up, the seller's description (in German and Googletranslate English):

rare original GUILD - M 70 USA Custom Shop , Topinstrument in bestem Zustand !

rare original GUILD - M 70 USA Custom Shop, top instrument in best condition!

The guitar is in the best condition with only minor signs of wear. There is no damage, major quirks or other errors. The neck is perfect and enables first-class playability with low strings, the frets are still perfect and without significant wear and tear.

1. No G shields on the knobs - should have picked this one up really. Anyone got any to sell? GAD?

2. The finish is much more yellowed than you might imagine from the photos. Perhaps that's a mercy. If it stays with me I suspect a refinish to black may be in its future.

3. Lots of random (if ignorable) black marks to the finish and some damage from one of those awful wall hangers that seem to damage all guitars - perhaps it was hanging in the sunlight which caused the yellowing.

4. No nice croc case :( The case looks brand new, perhaps he kept the croc one for himself. I hadn't realised till i did some more digging after purchase that they had lovely croc cases as stock.

5. A chip to the back - I can tolerate this, to be honest

6. A concerning crack right at the nut. It's clearly not new and the seller clearly did not photograph it.

What do you all think about the last thing? If you're going to describe something as "without damage" and "in the best condition" then it needs to be true IMO.

Not good at all! IMO, a cracked neck is one of the worst problems a guitar can have. I don't know if it's "just through the finish" or not, but still... that is definitely something that should have been disclosed.

well exactly. And how do you find out if it's just a finish crack without stripping the finish?

You could loosen the strings and CAREFULLY pull the headstock back to see if the seem opens or not.

I would not do anything until I contacted seller and made him aware. You do anything to it and seller could say you caused harm then a long process awaits you and still may not be satisfied.
If I get a guitar from unknown seller, I film/video opening with fishing camera. May not hold up in legal battle but bet seller thinks it would and that is a big plus in your favor.

It sure is beautiful but golly that chip is sad, but the neck crack is concerning. Hardly "without damage". That's a shame. What are you gonna do??

Oooh, surf green!
Looks like but I think it's not. They were available in Seafoam Green (not Surf Green) but that one seems to be a Daphne Blue one, and since the lacquer yellowed over time it looks pretty green now.

Too bad about the case, that would have been an original one:
