"For parts or not working" -- Ha! I finally got this "dented" Oxnard-built F-512. It's got that one scrape, which I'll have touched up, a couple other little dings hardly worth mentioning, otherwise it is SPECTACULAR! Tuned her up and OMG, it plays and sounds amazing! Took a risk, and man, did it pay off!

Pics when I get a chance. Meanwhile I'm super busy since I've got a booth at the Avenues Street Fair this Saturday, seeing if I can sell any of my watercolors, most of which I did when I was living in Japan, so there's a definite Japanese thematic background. My first time doing one of these things, so I'm a little nervous. OK, a lot!

That is most excellent news Cougar!!!! I look forward to pictures and more of your take on it as it is an Oxnard. I am certainly enjoying my Oxnard F-55.. I really think they are trying to keep the brand true.. I do..

Nice watercolors sir! I hope you sell out!

You're an artist of more than one type! Very nice watercolors; good luck with your showing/sale!

Where did you live in Japan? I travelled quite extensively there in my previous work life.

Ain't that a great feeling! Congratulations

You know it! Especially that "better than expected" feeling. Thanks, Stu!

I was blown away by the tone. Didn't expect such a difference.

Thanks, D30! I have no expectations. It'll be interesting.

Ookayama, where Tokyo Institute of Technology is located. Mrs. Cougar took a sabbatical there. We had a great time. Great experience.

Yeah, an awesome outcome! I imagine I can just get that gash sealed and touched up, and not even worry about the "scar" on the binding? I think the photo makes it look worse than it is.

Nice to have a new guitar that you don't have to worry about putting that first scratch or ding in. lol

I've had my 412 for 5 years and still handle her with kid gloves.

Too true!!

Well, it's the ultimate 12!

Nice to have a new guitar that you don't have to worry about putting that first scratch or ding in. lol

Ha! Oddly, I'm not much bothered by it. And I can't get it in to a local luthier till next week.

Thanks, Tom. That would be cool if there were a lot of sales, but I guess there could be hardly any. We'll see in a bit over 12 hours!

Great news...now you can get rid of that JF-30-12!

bwahahahahahaha.

I knew that was coming, LOL! Still highly, highly unlikely!

I still regret passing on a factory second New Hartford D 55 I could have bought for $1200. The top was riddled with those large finish cracks that are so ugly, and it looked like someone put tape on a still drying surface. I figured the sunburst was going to need a bare wood redo. Should have just bought it and lived with it as is. But I had within the past month bought my 00 15 custom 12 fret Martin and thought I'd be pushing the limits of forgiveness. Great deals can be had for those willing to overlook cosmetics. Enjoy.

Congratulations on the guitar.

Your artwork is beautiful. Watercolor seems to be a pretty unforgiving medium (it was for me anyway) but looks like you have no difficulties with it. How did your showing go?
