Scored this on the goodwill auction site for $55. Plan to tune it up an octave higher than standard if possible.

Looks like a fun little guitar! Don't forget to protect your eyes when tuning up, and bring an extra set of strings just in case 😅

What's the scale length on this one? I once tried to tune up my mini Jazzmaster, but the strings didn't take it.

I actually have no idea. I’ll be sure to measure it upon receiving the guitar. I threw a half hearted $50 bid at it expecting to lose, forgot I left a bid on it until this morning when I received the confirmation email that I had won. I think I’m going to try to locate the thinnest gauge strings I can get away with on guitar and hope for the best.

Goodwill guitars often fetch more than retail value, so be careful of finding a "steal" on there since they rarely happen. You can find cheap Teiscos on your local Offerup, Craigslist, and FB marketplace. I buy Harmony/Kay guitars as well off of there for usually around $50.

Oh totally I’m aware of that very odd phenomenon. Estate sale auctions are just as bad, me and a coworker would go to them to score stuff but unfortunately it became a competition for people who show off the fact that they have too much money. Last one I been to before COVID I was bidding on an old vintage desk I thought was cool but some dudes bid it up to somewhere around $600. A month later I saw that exact same desk sitting at a second hand store along with a bunch of stuff that guy won in an auction.

And I saw a Goodwill auction for an old Yamaha FG-300 that got bid up to $500 and it clearly needed a neck reset! I don’t think these people look at all the photos on that website.

Agreed 100%! That is absolutely insane, as I doubt they were even half that price brand new!

Tax title and license I paid like $75. Not a terribly bad gamble I don’t think. I very seldom use goodwill auctions for the reasons you mentioned.

Some of the vintage mini Strats are a lot of fun, the quality ones.

I tune little guitars like that up to C on .009's, sounds pretty neat.

This is my last one, MIJ Stuntman all fullsized vintage spec parts like a real Strat down to the pots.

A mini me of my '74 OW Strat. Honey I shrunk the Strat ;]

This is another Stuntman I had way back when. You know these are better than the average tiny guitar as soon as you pick it up.

My Boss’s uncle was the owner of the shop that developed/had these guitars produced.
His last name was Veneman.
He arbitrarily used the name Bradley for ordering food and table reservations at restaurants cuz it was more easily understood by waitstaff. Less spelling clarification.
That’s where this Bradley comes from for the guitars.

From what I understand it was a large operation. This guitar was from a Goodwill in Maryland so it didn’t venture too far from home base until I bought it.

My old guitar teacher in Columbia, MD bought a crate of them from Veneman iirc. Huge amount. I think he sold them off to his students or something. He probly still has some. He also had an Ashbory bass he loved a lot. He may have made 6 string mandolins out of some of the Bradley’s. Vague recollection. “Mandocasters”.
