Walked into GC for an amp stand, walked out with this beauty:

Guild Sf4.jpg

I cant find a single piece of evidence that this thing was ever played. No fret wear, no buckle rash on back, there isnt even a single pick mark on the pickguard. The metal looks as new. Paid less for this than a new Korean SF-IV goes for...

I'm assuming it is a 2000 or 2001 model (maybe later?) but the online serial number gonkulator can't identify the year. The pickups are definitely Fender, as is the manual that came with it. Serial is "AG001754"

Thanks!!

Does the label say Made in Corona or Westerly? Fender owned Guild since 1995 but Corona Starfires don’t show up until 2001-2002 (I forget which. Coffee incoming).

Beautiful guitar! Regardless of where it was made they’re stellar instruments and you scored big!

Label says "Westerly"

The user manual in the case has the FMIC address on it, and I flipped the pickups to see if I scored some SD-1's and they're definitely the Fender-made pickups instead. Either way, I don't mind them, actually, so will be leaving them in.

BTW, Thanks for your detailed write-ups on the SF-4 / IV / Etc.; it was very helpful!

Thanks! That's a killer guitar you've got there! My 2000 is one of my favorite guitars.

I can see why you snatched it up! Looks absolutely mint. I too would love to see more of transparent red over maple in the sunlight. That is a great score.

I've got rain in the forecast for the next couple of days, so that might take a bit!

Great looking guitar, congrats!

I've got a ca. '95 SFIV in transparent red over maple and it is a stunning looking guitar. As on yours, the red over the flamey maple is a great look!
