Just acquired this beauty from @sonic romp, who was great to deal with, and the guitar was just as described, as far as condition goes. I was able to confirm that it was manufactured in Westerly, and not Hoboken, although that is irrelevant to me.

Below is the link to the listing, which details the condition and prior repairs.

And here are my pics:

Going out on a limb, but I think this guitar was probably played in a church at some point.

It plays and sounds fantastic. Brazilian back and sides, all original. The sunburst is beautiful. I have never seen a burst F312 before. And the Waverly 6 on a strip tuners are actually pretty good.

My ‘68 Hoboken F312 NT, which has a Brazilian back and EIR sides, has Japanese tuners that function OK, but are very stiff by comparison. Not surprising that many people replace them with Mini-Grovers.

Congratulations! It couldn't have gone to a better home. Such beautiful Rosewood. I expect it sounds as good as it looks. How does it compare to your other?

Spectacular in every respect. Super congenial deal, Andrew, and I’m happy it is here in the LTG fold. If Bran Dillard hadn’t let me in on Jedi of a pre-war Martin 0-18, I’d have held on longer. Note, though, that 312 SB is still the star in my avatar!

Beautiful, awagner! And, sonic romp, congrats on the Martin.

Any idea what strings those are? I thought the Thomastik Spectrum strings had the wrapping on the ball ends... But, it's been a long while since I checked.

Those are Thomastik-Infeld Plectrums (AC 211’s). They’re fantastic and worth every penny!

I've used them on my mahogany 12-fret dreads. They have a soft, smooth feel and a silk-and-steel sound. They last a really long time (months).

Awagner, FYI, when I had Thomastik-Infield Spectrums (not Plectrums) on my F-50R I found them too subdued for my liking. Just be aware that these strings might take a lot of edge and chime out of sound.

And, no argument, guys (GG and SR) that they're great strings, especially for feel and comfort. Tone is, of course, up to the ear of the beholder. :)

Exactly. If you like the sound of silk and steel strings, these are a good choice.

Congrats again, Andrew!

Thanks! The strings are new, so we decided to not replace them when the guitar was set up.
I have never used them before, but they sound excellent. I hope they last a long time, since they are expensive.
