FINALLY, got a new Guild!!!
The sound is incredible and the Baggs pickup is impressive. I just wish they had a better battery solution. I have big hands and will have to loosen probably 8-10 strings to get to it. Also, what are you guys doing for a strap button? I really don't want to drill in to my new guitar, and Ive never been comfortable with a neck strap.

congrats and enjoy! if it were me, I would just drill the strap pin into the treble side of the neck heel, or actually I would have my professional luthier do it. But, I would not hesitate to have that done. Have done the same to a few relatively clean/vintage Guilds. my 1980 G-312 comes to mind. I really just had to drill the pin to give *me playing the guitar, a fair chance.

PapaLeo, that is ROCKIN'!!! Congrats on your F-512E.

As you probably know, Guild has gone around the block a few times with strap pins on the neck/body. I'm glad they left it up to you now... I didn't know they were doing that. Anyway, my favorite place is on the treble side of the neck heel. If you desperately want one on the bass side of the body side, you need a wood block added internally to drill into. Either way, get thee to a tech/luthier and show him/her what you want.

Again, beautiful new addition. There ain't nothing like an F-512.

Congratulations PapaLeo on your king of the 12 strings! Love the burst!

For strap buttons/end pins I’ve installed these D’addario elliptical pins and like them. Some may not like the look but when installed perpendicular to your strap slot they are very secure without the need for installing a more complex strap lock system. Looks like they also have a rotating/locking version that might make installation easier so you don’t have to line up the angle in advance.

Bee-uti-ful!
My luthier installed a strap button on the treble side of the neck heel on my F112. He was putting in a baggs pickup system and threw in the strap button for free. He said its better than twisting the neck. That said I had a strap on the neck of my F412 for years with no trouble.
The nice thing about the treble side of the heel is it holds the strap in place with no fancy gimmicks.

Thanks everyone, It sure sounds like a chorus of angels! I really am loving the pickup. Sadly, it puts my high end overly expensive Taylor es2 pickup to shame.
