Sorry, no pics yet. It's going to be well below zero here thru most of next week so I won't be having it shipped quite yet. It is a 1974 F-48 Navarre. It's a big Jumbo guitar with a 17" lower bout. Solid Sitka Spruce top and solid Mahogany and sides. It looks to be in prettyy nice shape with no cracks etc.

I've owned a few of these but had to let them go for various reasons. I've always preferred the larger bodied Dreads and Jumbos and this fil;ls that need. I may be wrong but I think it's the only Jumbo Mahogany acoustic Guild ever made up until the NH Orpheum Jumbo and now the Oxnard F 40.

Interesting story here. The seller was in Merritt Island Florida, same location as our own Tom Jacobs. I talked to the guy and it turns out Tom sold him the guitar a while back. Tom graciously agreed to play middle man here so I could avoid Sales Tax and the seller could avoid Reverb fees. Tom will set it up to my liking and ship it off when it's ready and the temps are a bit more humane..

As a side note, i was also chasing a 70's D 50 in a Detroit Suburb. The guitar looked like NOS, it was pristine. I talked to the guy and asked him about neck angle etc. He said it had a neck reset, professionally done by (you guessed it) Tom Jacobs. It seems "fixit" is known far and wide.

Pics coming after the guitar arrives.

My Tacoma F40 was mahogany. Nice guitar, but I never really bonded with it.

Westerly produced the JF-4 from '92 to '95, and there also was a twelve-string version squeezed in there for a couple of years. Mahogany body with an arched back.

And btw, major congrats on the F-48! Have always had an interest in the F-47 & F-48 mahoganys, but never have been fortunate enough to come across the right deal for a clean one. I'm no longer actively pursuing guitars, but if the right one came along, who knows what might happen!

You are correct sir. I forgot about the JF-4. I owned a couple and they were pretty nice guitars and priced right as well.

Your meme should be rephrased to the present tense. What happens if the new guitars come back from the tech all at the same time?
