Just received this one this afternoon. I owned one before in a natural finish (which I slightly prefer) but a good friend of mine practically begged me to sell it to him so I did. But that left me without a Jumbo Mahogany Guild and that's just not acceptable. I found this on Reverb as a store demo out on the West Coast and bought it at a pretty fair price. Comes with new guitar warranty, nice Guild HSC etc.

If you like large bodied guitars with a huge voice you might want to check this model out. I owned 4 different Orpheum Jumbos in the past and while they were very good I didn't fall in love with them. I've also owned two different F 48's and they were good as well. But, I can say with absolute certainty (at least to my ears) this is a better sounding guitar than either of those other models. It may not have all of the appointments but the sound is deep, rich, resonant and absolutely HUGE. Personally, I find the more simplistic look really attractive on this model.

It has a nice pickup bystem (Baggs I think) with controls inside the sound hole. The set up was pretty good but I'll likely have my guy lower the action just a tad.

Happy camper here.

Nice one, congrats! Is the top gloss or is it also a satin finish?

I see you're back into the Guild F-48 -- my bad, I mean the F-40. I like to think of it as the Cordoba version of the 1970s F-48, which I owned at one point, and really liked.

Congrats Richard. I like the burst! Didn’t you buy an F40 Deluxe recently? One of those Sweetwater deals?

All the best Richard. I can vouch for the great tone and playability as I have the same guitar minus the E. Too bad (for me) I'm not bonding with the jumbo size, so it's for sale.
