I bought this on Reverb for a pretty fair price. It needed work for sure so off to Tom Jacobs it went. I never even saw it first, I had it shipped directly there. I really love the entire DV series. The DV 62 is one you seldom see. I'd say if you see 2 to 3 a year on Reverb/Ebay that would be a lot.

It has an absolutely huge voice. I'm not typically a huge fan or RW (although I do have more RW than any other tonewood in my stable) but these DV series Guilds just do it for me. I love the rosette and the Herringbone binding etc. It just has a classy look.

On this one, Tom did a neck reset, glued and cleated 4 top cracks,. installed a new bone saddle, set up etc. Even with all that I'm ahead of the game because the initial price was pretty low.

I think the DV series RW guitars, the D 50 and the D 100 NT CRV are my most favorite RW Guild models. I've owned several D 55's but I just don't bond with them like I do the others mentioned.

Seller was a good guy. The case in a non original but I'm quite sure I have a Guild branded case that will work for this guitar. He also included a nice leather strap and couple really nice Capos. It has electronics but I haven't tested them yet. Here's a few pics.

Another great rescue by team Richard and Tom! Looks great.

Refresh my memory, what is the difference between the DV52 and 62? Is it primarily the herringbone or are there other differences as well? I’m with you on how classy that herringbone looks.

Trying to keep up with your guitar acquisitions and Tom Terrific's Blue Ribbon Restorations makes me hesitant about buying a Guild anytime soon. I keep thinking, "maybe Richard might put one up for sale?"
A beautiful example of judgement, courage and trust--the judgement you made that this guitar is a "yes", the trust you have in Tom Jacobs to allow him free reins in restoration, and courage to repeat this process multiple times a year.
Enjoy!!

Wonderful guitar, congrats! I agree the DV series is impressive and certainly made me look away from my Martins back in the day.

What do you feel like the "issues" are Richard? Top cracks, binding issues? It's hard for these old eyes to see.

There are no issues I know of. It did need a neck reset and there were 4 (not horrible) soundboard cracks. Tom took care of all of that and gave it a superb set up so it's good to go, hopefully for years to come.

Man that's great. I fell in love with the DV62 in Arlington, our former moderator "Jeff" had one he'd bring each year. Great guitars. Congrats.
