Thanks for the feedback. Yea, comes with the territory, especially purchasing on craigslist or online. No sense in going for justice in these cases, with every bargain there's a lemon i suppose! It's my payback for picking up some really good deals over the years

these guitars always need work, much of the time the neck and such. the truss rod is an oddball one, but acoustics in general are super sketchy. For me, any time i buy one its always a gamble. Just ask Mike how many Guild acoustics i've brought him. if the 67 D-40 is all there and good to go when he is finished with it, you made out ok. would have been nice to know if something was clearly not right, but it's not like u bought a fake Guild. its in the right hands now with Mike at the right price for repairs, so u still win.

Get that guitar back in good working order, and I'll bet you forget the cost as soon as you write the check. How dated is that expression?
I lovingly look at my D 35 as my beater. I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to it, but I don't hesitate to take it anywhere either. Accidentally bang it against something and I don't even look for a ding. Let us know the story as it progresses.
