I took off the offending tuner this morning to have a look. I cranked it around probably a hundred times, slightly loosened the button screw and it started to loosen up. The screw hole in the headstock was stripped out so I filled that with a tooth pick. Put it back on and strung it up. It turns much easier now so I don’t believe I’m going to need a replacement at this time. This isn’t the greatest set of tuners I’ve ever used but they are serviceable enough for me and I can preserve the originality. Thanks for everyone’s advice.
