Interesting Les. I wish they had a pic of the gig bag though.

I gotta think its this one:

Street price for that guitar is $629 and the case above goes for $75 (which adds up to $704)

I've suddenly become very intrigued by these guitars. Apparently there are none to be had at the moment. I know this is a Guild forum but has anyone compared the Guild baritone to the Alvarez one?
I sold an Alvarez 6 string to help fund the Guild 8 string.
The Alvarez was a very nice baritone with good tone and playability.
I was just so intrigued with the thought of an 8 string baritone and when Guild built one, I knew that I had to have one.

I really like the added jingle that the 2 octave strings add.

^ How cool is that?! I think Taylor did this years ago, but wasn't that a 9-string? May have to get one of these!!!

I think they had 6 and 8 string versions (just like the new Guild models). One of the best sounding acoustic guitars I have EVER played was one of these: Taylor Baritone 326e

...but I was not as well-heeled at the time and could not afford the $1800 price tag. I have been looking for one ever since and, quite honestly, that search is what has led me here to this forum, via the BT-240/258. I had to "waive" my fatwa against MIC guitars in this instance and I hope that when the 240 I ordered gets here this weekend, I won't be disappointed!

The 9 string Taylors you remembered were no baritone guitars but only a mix between 6 and 12 string with normal scale.

Currently Taylor has various special editions of 6 string and 8 string Baritone guitars:

Someone had mentioned they were having a hard time finding these Baritone models. Elderly Music has both the BT 240E and BT 258E in stock for anyone who is interested.

My BT-240 showed up today but some extra loving from the folks at Fed-Ex mean it will probably have to go back.

Looks like the box caught a whack from something or had something tossed on top of it.
