Hey guys,

I'm looking for a roller bridge to install on my tbird. Since I'm on a budget and can't go for a mastery or schaller I'm open to swapping on other stock bridges. Any suggestions? I've heard a mustang bridge could work.

Cheap roller bridges are usually tone and sustain sucking monsters. Which you might like if you're into jangle, but it goes against most people's preferences.

Most trem tuning issues are usually the nut anyway, as the angles are more severe in two dimensions simultaneously. I'd get a good luthier to look at/recut/replace the nut, and get yourself some graphite. Odds are it'll be pretty good after that.

This import tune-o-matic isn't exactly spectacular either.. Getting the nut looked at wouldn't be a bad idea. But as far as the bridge goes, I've been looking to replace it since I swapped in a jaguar trem.

I’d personally save up for a Schaller or something as nice. In my experience with the cheapo roller bridges is they either seize up or something gives and the saddle roller breaks and falls out.

Try out one from Guitar Fetish. If it doesn’t work to your liking you’re only out $10
