For whatever reason, guild used acoustic style friction fit end pins in a lot of their solidbodies. My advice is to use pliers (carefully), twist, and be prepared to destroy the factory endpin. Afterwards, you'll need to fill with something threadable, like plastic wood, or drill the hole out square and glue in a wood plug. Good luck!

Exactly this. Use some soft-grip pliers or insulate with a rag and you'll probably pop that pin out no problem. The one on my original S300AD used to fall out on its own all the time so I drilled and filled and put in strap locks.

Conversely, I had an old S-100 that had been set down/knocked enough that it was driven halfway into the body. That was really hard to get out and I absolutely mangled the old pin.

That M75 Bluesbird has some great player wear on the pickguard! Some serious strumming action. Interestingly the body looks clean. That model looks like it had the gold plated parts and ebony fretboard. It also look like one of the earlier model with the trapazoidal hard stop being further away from the bridge than the later models.

I wonder if you could take a rosewood endpin, cut the head off it and screw on a conventional strap button/lock, then wedge it in like the original end pin. Would be reversible...

Pretty guitar, despite the wear! Might this be a pretty early one, as far a solidbody M-75s go? I'm thinking they switched to the rounded fretboard corners as early as '71 or so.

If you want something a little more contemporary, Guild now makes an Aristocrat HH, made in China. Should be easier on the pocketbook.
