So I just bought a Mint 1999 Natural Starfire IV from Tmoll making it my first Guild Electric and the sister to my D15. First I must say Tom is awesome and was so great to deal with. I randomly came across this forum sent him an email and now own one of the most beautiful guitars around. I've wanted a 335 for years and was just about to buy a 61 reissue SG before seeing this Guild. I have never played a Starfire, held a Starfire or even seen one closer than 30 feet at a concert and went on pure faith that Tom's guitar was as described.

Well after 10 minutes with this guitar I can't imagine I'll be playing any of my other electrics any time soon. Not only did I luck out and like the set up but the finish is perfect. It looks like it's been cased under a bed for 10 years and I bought it new. I've seen and played many 335's and can't see why anyone would pay what Gibson is asking. $2000 for a basic 335 is absurd. I still can't believe how undervalued these guitars are. I have sang it's praise to all of my friends and will continue for years to come. I have no interest in Gibsons after seeing and playing this guitar I will buy custom before I get an SG.

As for this forum I'm happy I stumbled upon it and am even happier to have two quality guitars that I will never let go. I don't have photos hosted anywhere so here's a pic from the original post.

Congrats on a beautiful guitar 6stringa! My introduction to Guild guitars was just as unexpected and captivating. It really is astounding how they continue to stay under the radar. More of us, eh?

Thanks. It really is amazing how they stay under the radar. I saw a guy playing one in concert a few weeks back and had it not been for that I never would have even searched to see if they ever made electrics. I guess it's their loss and our gain.

I agree. Everything about mine is damn near perfect. Well it is now that I had the pickups rewound. :)
