krysh said:story? well a short one. I found this bass in the local ebay ads of berlin last weekend, since I always are on the hunt for nice guild basses and guitars. that's how I also had found my nightingale.
well, this ad was put up for some hours and I sent an email because the price was very good for over here, including the original case from the first owner. I called 2 times and the seller sent me some more pictures, but since I didn't knew the guy I looked for a different solution than just sending the money and waiting for the bass to be shipped.
So I asked Alex, a Bassplayer from Berlin who I got in touch with because of the custom bass cabinet I have had made for me by a german custon cabinet builder who had made the cabinet for this guy first, which I had found out on na german bassplayers forum. He was at my place before and had played my basses, so he knew what I like and went to this guy and checked it out and played it for me. he left 100€ to put it on hold because he liked it and said that I will like it. also the condition of the bass is great, some small buckle rush on the back, but that's basically it. the neck is perfect.
so I sent him the money and since his girlfriend lives in hamburg, he just brought the bass in a gigbag by train today and I picked the pilot up this evening. I will pickup the case in June, then I am invited by alex to check some sessions and studios in berlin where I will meet the seller too, because this was such a nice deal. The funny thing is that the seller was lurking over here before, because he wanted to sell the bass for quite a while. he had also found me over here and was wondering if he might ask me how to sell it, but then thought this was not the appropriate way - and now it's mine

and the best thing is, since I had never owned a fretless before, it is a little bit like learning a new instrument or getting a new perspective on so believed long known things.
