New members often ask how to post pictures and while there are some threads around where members have explained how to do it, there is a link within the website that explains this and other format options for posts. If this has been covered before I apologize (I'm also using my phone which makes it more difficult to search previous threads and post links). I have a feeling this section of LTG is overlooked because the link isn't very conspicuous and I think it's only visible at certain screens (when creating a post, editing profile options in the UCP, etc).

Anyway, here is a link to an explanation of how to trick out your posts and link pictures and whatnot.

BBcode

Hopefully I did that right. I had to type the code longhand.

Enjoy!

Just a generic thanks, Qvart. One thing I've never figured out is how to quote from multiple posts into one reply post as I've seen some guys do? :?

What I do to handle that is open LTG in more than one tab in my browser each with a different person's post that I'm quoting and one tab with my post that I can paste the text into.

You mean cut and paste between windows? I thought I tried that once and it didn't work even though I can do it with links.....

Are you opening pages in new windows or tabs? What browser do you use? Doesn't matter if you figured it out.

I use Firefox, which is easy to use for opening links in new tabs (right click on the link).

Another cool thing about Firefox - there's an add-on called Morning Coffee that will open multiple tabs when you start the browser and display websites you choose instead of having to open them one at a time. So, for example, when I open Firefox it already has websites I look at everyday set up in their own tabs - Facebook, LTG, Ebay, Craigslist, Gmail, Jaxed, etc.

I couldn't remember anyone mentioning that BBcode link so I figured I'd post it. Thought it might help. Who knows.

Just for reference, in case it helps someone, I'm on Internet Explorer as packaged with Windows XP, I can open a new page in a tab or a new window, don't think it makes any diff for my original question.

Naw, just wondering. Thought maybe it was something quirky in IE. Which wouldn't surprise me.

Did good Geoff; but unless this information is stickied, it'll sink in a few days meaning future do-overs whenever somebody asks a sensible question that's already been well-answered.

You might shoot PMs to Walter/Jeff/Cmo ... see what they want to do ... otherwise the next time the questions come up, we'll all just direction them to the Mods ... let them do the heavy lifting ... then they might reconsider ...

Here's a bump for starters.

If anyone is reading this and wants to have it for a reference, just put in a reply. It bumps the thread and you can just "view your posts" to get at it quickly.

Yep, we're on the same page. I don't mind explaining it to a new member or pointing them towards Default's thread. I don't remember anyone mentioning the link to the BBcode explanation. It's useful, but people might still like to see the screen shots in the posting pics thread.

The BBcode link is perfect ... one of us ... (who shall remain nameless) ... learned it all by trial and error ...
