Great information. Thanks.
So where can I buy a correct bridge and feet with the adjustable wheels? What's on there now works but I really like the look of those two little 'feet" over the wooden base.

The vintage Aristocrats all had those floating bridges, the brass feet with the height adjustment wheel were floating (means not fixed to the body)!

No holes as you can see:

Ah. I never knew those weren't screwed into the body. Always learning!

I think I have the top portion of what you need. Well maybe??? It’s in the gig bag of my starfire which is at my tech’s place for frets. That is, if you even care to change the bridge.

I love black Bluesbirds / M75 models and always wanted one of these ones - definitely my weak point !

This is kind of a drag. Of course, the guy I bought it from stated "all original".

No point in grousing. It looks like an awesome instrument - one of my grail guitars. If the only thing not original after 50 years is the bridge then you're doing very well.

You might contact Hans Moust about the metal feet. The reason for the photo of my Aristocrat with one lonely foot was because I had lost the other and I was trying to get Guild to sell me a replacement. They ended up sending me one for free, which was nice of them, but my guitar is contemporary to what they're selling today. I don't know how they would respond to you.

Try Hans, or just play the guitar and smile and not worry about it.

Most people have no idea what they're talking about, myself included. As Bo Diddly once said, "Don't trust nobody but Hans, and even then look at him real good."

Thanks.
I messaged Hans Moust about possibly selling the parts I need (if he has them). I've heard of his book but it appears to be OP and rare, so I don't have it.

Stereo: The power amp is a VTA ST 70 (http://www.tubes4hifi.com) with a VTA SP 14 line preamp and Ph 15 phono preamp. All loaded with cork-sniffer tubes. Musc Hall turntable with an Ortofon 2M Black and a Revox B77, Pioneer RT 909 and Pioneer RT 1050 hooked up. Tubes, tape and vinyl.

I really hope I can get this squared away. Hopefully Hans has the parts.
Secndshft...do you mean you have an original bridge you could part with?
I really appreciate all of the help.

I haven't listened to my stereo in ages. Traded my old Dahlquist D-10Qs for some Advent Maestros (the D10s were simply too big and awkward for the room). The Advents sound okay, but it was such a letdown compared to what was there that I just never wanted to go listen to records anymore. Just end up cranking the nearfield monitors on my PC these days, lol

Hi,
I'm an old guy (three chord garage guy) and have become a fan of old Guilds. I have a pretty '68 Starfire V and a really pretty '66 Starfire III and just picked up this '69 Bluesbird M-75. After having the bridge worked on a bit, I really like it. Early impressions are that it is brighter sounding than the other two Guilds. Really light.
I've got a few questions about it.
Is this guitar from Hoboken or Westerly? If it helps, the serial number is DD 3xx.
Is the body maple? It appears that the fretboard is ebony. Since the pickups read in the low fives, I'm assuming that's why it's a little brighter sounding guitar.
Thanks for your help.

Wow, I had a black 69 like that in 69-70. Gold hardware, but I think the tailpiece was not flat smooth shiny...? Wood bridge. Ebony board. The nicest board I have ever seen on any guitar. Dense flat black, smooth and no apparent grain you could see. Unfortunately I put a 3rd pickup in the middle. (UGH someone shoot me) I'm always on the lookout for that guitar, it should be obvious....

I can listen to Axis Bold As Love for days on end, nor sure wife shares the same enthusiasm...

Nicest Guilds I've seen in a while. I'd grab anything like that in a heartbeat, but have to common sense not to.

But maybe after selling a few...

I bought a bridge and the two supports (gold) from Cordoba and they are different.
These have thimbles that go into the top and are not floating like the originals. Not a big deal as I knew I was rolling the dice.
The guy at Cordoba was very helpful.

Dude, they just sold you the wrong parts. This wouldn't have happened had they not muddied the waters with all the new M-75/Aristocrat/Bluesbird models sharing bits and pieces of each others' names.

They need to send you the bridge feet from this guitar: https://guildguitars.com/g/m75-aristocrat/

Kakerlak, that's what I asked for.
Yeah, they goofed up. They are at least selling a guitar with the part you need. As to whether they have the ability to wrangle those parts and send them to you, who knows. They may solely exist in a parts bin at the factory in Korea. In fairness, they're not among the (several) Newark Street parts on offer at the website. It's frustrating, because it's a small part that's totally loose on an unstrung guitar and is a cross match for vintage instruments; you'd think it might have a higher utility value to owners than some of the other stuff they're selling. Good luck!

So.... I just noticed, the pickups on my '69/70 ? (bought new in 69 ish) had two adjustment screws on one side. These do not. What's up with that? When did that change? Maybe it was a '70.

Two copies of *Axis: Bold as Love*?! A man after my own heart! That was the record the led to my getting my first guitar at age 14.
