Hello everyone. Just joined the group. Been messing around with guitars for 40 years off and on.. Play in the church ensemble. I have a question that maybe somebody can help steer me in the right direction. I stopped by my local music shop Saturday and found a Guild guitar in the back seat of my truck when I got ready to leave. (Okay, it might have had some help...) It's a Guild D7E NT in road worn condition. I can't seem to find a lot of info on the 'net regarding this model. I think they only made them in 1993 or so. The few I have seen listed for sale is about right where this one was listed. Other than that, I can't find any specs, construction materials or much of anything about this model. It sounds pretty good, I'm going to play it at church through a small amp and through the sound board. Anybody able to shed some light on this for me? Thanks in advance.

I cannot offer any information either, but wanted to say Welcome!

"... found a Guild guitar in the back seat of my truck ..." (y) I like your sense of humor.

Here's an old Reverb listing.

Sidebar: That pickup is decent enough. There are better undersaddle pickups nowadays . . . but there are worse ones too. If you own an outboard preamp (especially something with smooth/compression, or resonance) it will sound even better.

Thanks for the welcome! Been ghosting and lurking here for a couple of months. I can tell there are some great participants here. I'll have to look into posting a photo when I get home. I gotta admit, I struggle with technology sometimes. I'll keep an eye out for responses from the panel of experts...:)(y)
Photos or it didn't happen :).
Yeah, I gotta work on that........

Welcome. For what I know the D-7e was only made in 1993 and is a D-6 with Fishman electronics and gold hardware.
Thanks for that, See I did not know that about the relation to a D6.

I found that listing too. The pick up does work through my little Fender. I'm going top take it to rehearsal on Wed and try it straight through the board and see how it sounds. I do have a little Behringer preamp I use with my Sigma/Martin thin body to hook up and try. It sounds pretty good. It's got new strings, but I'm thinking new pins. I needed something to compete with a Taylor another fellow plays. That thing is the loudest Dreadnaught I think I've ever heard unplugged....:ROFLMAO: He hasn't met my Guild Jumbo yet either.....

Welcome J Buck. Stick around and show us this D7e of yours. I have one of those Behringer preamps and they work well enough.

I must admit, my first thought is why need info? You used my mantra, play guitar, like guitar, buy guitar, and you need go no further. But I do understand, really, just being a wise guy, but there's a lot of truth to that. If you get on the net and everyone chimes in, man that guitar is a dog, or man that's the best ever, will it really matter? I bought a guitar in 2014 and didn't know the scale length until recently. See I'm an old geezer, and way back in the good old days, we walked into a shop, played guitars and bought them or not. While knowing every little detail is fun, your guitar passed the true test. Have fun and welcome. This is the place for Guild geekdom.

I use a Fishman Platinum Pro-EQ as my main preamp. But I have a Behringer that I use for my mandolin, stick dulcimers, and often my 12 string acoustic. They're not bad at all, and honestly a solid copy of the Tech21 SansAmp.
