New guitar day. DeArmond M75 Great looking, playing and sounding Guild DeArmond M-75 guitar. Korean made with USA DeArmond pickups, great tone and super versatile. The DeArmond/Guild M-75 was made in Korea before Fender bought the name. This instrument features Set-neck construction with a mahogany neck and body, and a rosewood fingerboard. She also features USA made DeArmond™ 2k pickups, the exact same pickup that goes in Gretsch guitars. It was bought early I get it at Christmas. They only had 1 used. Example picture. Mine is a different color. A dark blue or sort of purple.

What is the overall consensus on these guitars?

Also Fender "bought the name" in 1995, though I'm guessing your reposting ad copy.

FWIW I have a DeArmond S73 that I bought here on LTG and it's a fantastic instrument! I think the general consensus is that that they are usually great guitars that can be on the heavy side. I've seen people buy them and sell the pickups out of them because those pickups sound great.

You tell us how it is!

Also Fender "bought the name" in 1995,

Just a slight correction.
Fender acquired Guild in 1995 and later Fender purchased the rights to the DeArmond name in 1997. The new pickups themselves, were branded ‘DeArmond’, but they had no connection with the original Toledo company.
The DeArmond guitar line debuted in Europe in 1998 and in the US in 1999. Bill Schultz of Fender donated a couple of those DeArmond instruments to Harry and Dorothy DeArmond’s Church in Toledo. (Soure: https://www.musicpickups.com/company-history/)

Regarding the Gold Tone Humbucking pickups:

From the 1999 catalog:

As they have the same source, the back of them looks just like the Guild Fender made HB-1 or Fender's own Humbuckers:

Welcome to LTG SMG! Congrats on a cool guitar - I have an M75 like yours
and really like it - it is indeed on the heavy side, I believe about 9 lbs,
finished in Tyrian Purple.

Mine is a dark blur or purple? I cannot find the color online.

Mine is the same , except it has a harp-bridge,black knobs and yellowish toggle-switch....I confirm that Moon-blue is a changing color. I've posted several lengthy indigestible comments on that guitar somewhere on LTG. Sweet sounding pups, gorgeous looks, good playability, not that expensive...The sunburst finish looks pretty good too!! OOOOh,and I need that case so bad!!

Thanks LeFin, it's a very nice case - might be the first case I've owned with
an interior fabric that nearly matches the color of the guitar.
I believe the guitar in the photo is a 2001 M77.

Yes, I think M77 too, they usually have a bigsby, and some don't...I guess they differ slightly from M75s /bridge and maybe chambered...As for the case, I'm still looking for a 2nd hand one....

Yes. The blue guitar with hard stop is a M77. If it has stock 2k single coils with a DeA bigsby it's a M77T.
The headstock is slimmer, body a little thinner and tuners have different knobs. The hardware also has a combination of chrome and gold on the M77 model.

That's a great color. Some guy on Reverb has one for sale, but he's asking over $700 for it, which I think is excessive. Maybe I'll lowball him! LOL. :ROFLMAO:;)
