So, I mentioned I've been picking up and trying out some other different sounding instruments. I'd recently picked up the Gold Tone Manditar that has a Mandolin body style but 6 strings tuned to standard guitar tuning. That thing is a blast.

I liked it so much I just bought the Gold Tone Banjitar. This looks like a Banjo but again has 6 strings tuned to standard guitar tuning. I sense this thing will be a gas as well. I forgot how dam gum heavy a Banjo is though so that will take some getting used to.

I just received another non Guild instrument I'll post pics of later today.

Here's a few pics of my Banjitar.

Congrats on the fun new instrument! A friend of mine has one of these and he actually uses it more than you would think for being such a "specialized" instrument.

That's very cool! Keith Urban calls it a "Ganjo"!

Taylor Swift uses one on stage. I’d prefer if no one asks why I know that.

Wwweeellllll ... you really shouldn't bring it up if you really don't want anyone to ask, so I'm asking, "Why do you know that?"

(Pssst. I'm really really good at keeping secrets.)

 July 2015. I went so that my daughter could go since she didn't have any friends that were very into Taylor Swift. I managed to get my pro camera and a 135mm f/2L lens in with me and took a very large pile of photos.

The last one is the woman's soccer team that one that year.

My thoughts at the time were that I'd never seen so many attractive young women in one place. My daughter told me that since TS was then 25, many of her fans are the same or similar age so there were a lot of college-age girls there. If I were 25 again I'd learn every song, slap on a Taylor Swift T-shirt and go to every show. Damn. Many of the men's rooms were marked ladies because it was easily 98% women.

Honestly my only complaint from the night was that there were three or four opening acts and the dead time between them sucked. Show started at 7 and Taylor didn't come out until 9:30.

Nice shots. There's no need to feel any embarrassment about attending a Taylor Swift concert, for whatever the reason, unless you did something embarrassing - like throw your panties onto the stage.

(If you did you can tell me. I'm really, really good at keeping a secret. ;) )

I'm not Taylor Swift's biggest fan musically, although I have heard most of her stuff and would say she is an excellent songwriter and performer. But no one can deny she is a great role model for young women, and always has been. Not just her musical success, but her overall public behavior, her treatment of her fans, etc. And her protection of her music as "hers" I like a lot.
