The Spector "NS-1 Solid Walnut" from their Woodstock Custom Collection. Kind of reminiscent of the old JS-II Nature Boy acorn bass, no?

Walnut is such a beautiful wood. And, it really makes an excellent tonewood for acoustics. I'm surprised it isn't used more often.

Very pretty!

Yes, indeed. I've always had a soft-spot for Spectors. I used to own an NS-2a back in high school. It was a late 80's, Korean made version of their neck-thru NS-2 bass. It played and sounded fantastic. They recently came out with their "Bantam" short scale models, which I believe are Czech made. I was admittedly temped but talked myself out of buying one due to the small body... which is something I've found in recent years to be uncomfortable and not very compatible with my lanky stature (regarding Hofners, Mustangs, Les Pauls, etc.)

Interesting. The video acknowledges the Guild influence even if the YouTube narrative doesn't. Chuck Levin's is legendary if you've spent time in the Mid-Atlantic. Presenter seems to be Ian Martin Allison. I've never heard him say anything actually wrong about Guilds. He's got a 66' or '67 Starfire bass. Tone in the demo was interesting. If I went into the stable and tried to reproduce it, I'd start with the JS-II and remind myself I really need to say more nice things about the Guild humbuckers because there are things a vintage Bisonic doesn't do.

Glad they mention it! I've been live on camera most of the day, so no chance yet to listen to the demo. I do however know that I typically do like the classic, single-P NS-1 tone and I'm sure Aguilar doesn't disappoint in this context.

When I first starting playing bass (before I knew about G&Ls), I wanted a Spector soooo badly.
