Looks nice, but why the long (34") scale? All the Guild acoustic basses up to this point have been short scale, and my old hands have learned to like that after years of playing a P-Bass. :?

There's probably a better market as a practice bass for electric bassist who play a "standard" 34" scale.

Short scales are for little kids and old men!

My guess is that the 34" scale appeals to a wider market. We discussed mentioned the headstock over here. I'm not sure I like it but I do think the narrow headstock makes the line between the bridge, nut and peg straighter and thus it may solve an engineering problem.

I'm kind of relieved about the long scale length because that pretty much means there is not one in my future.

Listed in Germany now for Euro 2.049,00 (incl. 19% VAT). Fender/Guild sales reps in Europe are fast to introduce them to shops!

Oooo that headstock is not pretty IMO. Also wonder how the cutaway effects the sound. As far as I'm concerned, I think I'd probably prefer a B-50.

The headstock is growing on me.

My present feeling about the B-50 is that you don't bother unless you are going to be pure acoustic. I'm thinking the B-54CE appeals to a different demographic.
