Need some help before I buy

I came across a used Starfire IV at my local GC. They are asking $699 for it. Is this a good deal? It is serial #AG001280 which i think is a 2000 model. Has a made in Westerly sticker inside. No case.

Given the reactions here to the price, I'd suggest getting it checked out VERY closely. GC ain't known for under-estimating the market price of anything. But you never know, so good luck!

You could always buy my Starfire II from me, it is a 97 with SD-1 pups and in near mint condition. I can't match the $699 price on the one near you, but I am also wary of the guitar if it is priced that low at a Guitar Center.
