Obviously the tuners have been changed at some point, but it looks otherwise clean to me. Would you snap this up @ $225?

Yes. Grab it!. When the DeArmond blow out was going on in 2000/2001 these were being sold at at price of $229. I bought 5 of them. They are excellent guitars that aspire toward the S100. The neck is little more chunky and wider than a S100 but not in a bad way. The hardware on these is a cool two-color blend of chrome and gold. Just enough to look snazzy with being gaudy. They are closer to the reissue in feel than the 1970's model. These guitars usually sell above $300 and at times over $400 with a case. The tuners are an improvement and it looks like the owner took the gold foil strip off of the "Gold Tone" pickup. I don't own any more S73's and I also sold my Guild S100's as I perfer a different styld body. I did hold on to my 12-string Dearmond S7312 as it is a great value for the $.

My sister lives in Harrisburg. What did you say the phone number was?

I'd give you the number, but, alas, it would do you no good. I went and picked her up. :D Holy crap, is this thing heavy...it's as heavy if not heavier than my Firebird. The pickups sound nice and purty, even tho I haven't messed with her for long at this point. There were a couple of dings, only one of which bothers me because it is right where my right forearm hits the body, and two fine finish cracks which are visually obvious they came from someone turning a wee bit too tight when installing the new tuners. Seems awesome so far! No comparison to my S-100, but it's a beast in its own right.

I wonder if one could Page-ilate the neck to make it a little bit closer to the S-100 thickness. I've always wanted to buy a cheapo thick set-neck to try that.

I'd say it's worth it. Great find, great price. Mine looks the same, but is on the lighter side. I hope yours has the mojo of this one. It sounds so good, I'm changing nothing, not even the pots or caps:

Did yours come with a good bag or case? I'm looking for one.

It did not come with a bag or case, but I can tell you it fits nicely into the case for my S-100.

Is there any rhyme or reason to the serials on the DeArmonds? As you can see by my sig, I'm a bit date happy...I like to know when my stuff was made...and I can't find squatly doo about decoding the serial for DeArmonds. I know it's fairly newish, my guess is definitely 200x, but I'd like to get a bit more specifical than that. :D

The serial is KC01083891. '01' = 2001?

Well, after a few days, I can definitely say it was worth it. Wow those pups sound purty.

I think I read somewhere that "KC0108xxxxx" would mean made in Korea, at the Cort factory, in 2001, month 8.

It is stamped Made in Korea, so I'm gonna go with you're right, unless I hear otherwise. Thanx for the confirmation!
